 De eerste twee dagen zullen we vooral snelweg rijden waarna we in Roemenie over de Karpaten en het Balkangebergte naar Bulgarije rijden. Na deze Europese tocht zullen we aankomen in Turkije -Istanbul- waar we een bezoek zullen brengen aan o.a. de Blauwe Moskee en het Topkapi paleis.
Hierna begint de zogenaamde Zijderoute en verruilen we het Europese continent voor het Aziatische continent. Via de hoofdstad van Turkije, Ankara, rijden we naar Cappadocie, wat met zijn turfstenen landschap en dorpen onder de grond, op de Werelderfgoedlijst van Unesco staat. Via het Taurus- en Kaukasusgebergte rijden we verder door het binnenland van Turkije en komen na ongeveer 2 weken bij de grens van Iran.
 Via Tabriz rijden we via het Zagros gebergte naar Esfahan, de op een na grootste plaats van Iran, gelegen op de hoogvlakte. Hier zullen we de Perzische bouwkunst met bijbehorende pleinen en markten bezoeken. Vervolgens duiken we de dorre woestijn in en rijden in een dag of twee naar Bam. Tussen Bam en de grens van Pakistan is een stukje niemandsland waar volgens Internet onze eerste militaire begeleiding zal worden gegeven. Andere websites melden echter dat je gewoon kunt doorrijden, dus we laten ons maar verrassen.
Door de gespannen situatie in Pakistan bekijken we dagelijks wat we gaan doen. De ambassade van Pakistan heeft ons al gemeld dat op plekken waar zij denken dat het nodig is, er gezorgd zal worden voor gewapende militaire en/of politie begeleiding. Indien het veilig is rijden we wellicht de Karakoram Highway, welke door iedereen wordt omschreven als schitterend en uniek. Aangezien het de afgelopen weken echter in deze streek redelijk onrustig is geweest, kan het ook zijn dat we direct doorrijden naar de grens met India.
Indien het weer het toe laat, gaan we direct na de grensovergang richting de hoge Himalaya. Via Srinagar rijden we naar de hoofdstad van Ladakh (Leh), waar de (voormalige) hoogste bereidbare bergpas ligt (Khardung la 5606 mtr). Indien de weg langs de grens van Tibet nog open is, rijden we zo terug naar Dehra Dun waar we kennissen van Marcel gaan bezoeken. Als de weg afgesloten is zullen we terug moeten rijden via Srinagar. Vervolgens rijden we via het Nanda Devi National Park naar Nepal.
In Nepal zullen we van het ene National park naar het andere National park rijden. Zo doorkruizen we het Royal Shukla Wildlife Park, Het Royal Bardia Park en het Royal Chitwan National Park. Na ongeveer 5 weken zullen we in Katmandu aankomen waar we een bezoek kunnen brengen aan het Langtang National Park en natuurlijk gaan kijken naar het base-camp van de Mount Everest. Vanuit Kathmandu vliegen zowel de motoren als wij zelf weer terug naar Nederland.
 The first two days, we will mainly drive highway followed by the Carpathians mountains in Romania and the Balkan mountains in Bulgaria. After Europe we will arrive in Turkey, where we will visit in Istanbul the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace.
With the so-called Silk Route, we swap the European continent for the Asian continent. Through the capital of Turkey, Ankara, we drive to Cappadocia, with the turf landscape and stone villages in the ground, listed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO. Crossing the Taurus and Caucasus mountains we will drive through the inland of Turkey and will arrive after about 2 weeks at the border of Iran.
Through Tabriz we drive through the Zagros Mountains to Esfahan, the second largest place of Iran. Here we will enjoy the Persian architecture with its squares and big markets. Then we cross the barren desert highland and drive in one or two days to Bam. Between Bam and the border of Pakistan there will be a small part no-man’s-land, were we meet our first military escort.
Because of the tense situation in Pakistan we take it day by day. The Embassy of Pakistan has already ensured us that if necessary, there will be an armed military or police escort. If it is save enough we try to drive the Karakoram Highway, which is described as brilliant and unique. However, the recent weeks this region has been quite restless, so it will be more likely that we drive directly to the border with India.
If the weather allows it, we drive to the high Himalayas of India. Via Srinagar we drive to the capital of Ladakh (Leh), visiting the (former) highest mountain of the world. (Khardung la 5606 m.) If the road along the border of Tibet is still open, we drive back to Dehra Dun where we go visit friends of Marcel. If the road is closed, we will have to drive back via Srinagar. After the high Himalaya we drive through the Nanda Devi National Park to Nepal.
In Nepal, we will visit a couple of National parks like the Royal Shukla Wildlife Park, The Royal Bardia Park and the Royal Chitwan National Park. After about 5 weeks we will arrive in Kathmandu where we visit the Langtang National Park and of course take a look at the base camp of the Mount Everest. From Kathmandu we finally fly both motorcycles back to Holland.
